It's good because you can fold it over on itself so the "co-pilot" can have it on his/her lap without blocking the view in the wing mirror (yes, that had caused arguments, but not accidents, in our car) but it doesn't stand up to rough treatment. If you are a hardcore traveller in France, get the "paperback" version. It also has larger scale "routefining" map at the beginning for planning and separate motorway maps with peages, childrens play areas, services etc.
