There are plenty of network providers in the UK with major ones being T-Mobile, Vodafone, o2, 3, Orange, Virgin. All of them provide great service and offer free handsets at the inception of the contract period. The user gets a handset of his/her choice and pays a monthly rental along with excessive usage charges after every month. There is a limit for each plan where a user can use free text messages, free voice calls and free Internet data usage. Beyond this level, the user would be charged as per the pre defined tariff rates. The contract is for a set time period during which the individual cannot switch to another network or would be liable to pay the network provider. The minimum contract time period is of 12 months followed by 18 months and 24 months. When the contract period expires or is about to expire the user can upgrade on the same network and maintain the same plan or switch to another plan. This entitles the user to keep his phone number, 10% off on continuing with the same plan, retaining the magic numbers, new handset. All these can be availed of without paying any deposit fees or providing a credit check.
