If you are convinced that Xpert4U has collected personal information about a minor without parental consent, please contact us at support@xpert4u.co.uk so that this information can be removed.

Purposes of processing

The data that you passively provide to us is used anonymously as much as possible. www.xpert4u.co.uk, for example, do not keep track of which internet browser you use, but do keep track of the percentage of our visitors using a particular internet browser. We do this to improve the quality and accessibility of the websites. In addition, we use information about which pages you have visited within the websites to improve the relevance of advertisements and vacancies that are shown to you when you visit www.xpert4u.co.uk. For this we use DoubleClick for Publishers. More information about Doubleclick’s privacy policy can be found at Google.

The personal data that you actively provide to Xpert4U are used for the following purposes:

  1. to provide our services to you and to enable you to share your experiences about products and stores through, for example, the Forum, Supply & Demand, Pricewatch, Shopreview, Productreview and Jobs;
  2. to give you the opportunity to post content on the Websites;
  3. to keep records of all visitors who create an account;
  4. to be able to define target group and appropriate use of the website;
  5. to communicate with you about or in connection with the Websites and our services;
  6. to send you a newsletter on request where we can keep track of whether you open it;
  7. to prevent fraud and abuse;
  8. to enable participation in any promotions;
  9. to create a karma profile based on your contribution to us;
  10. if you have unambiguously given permission for this, to inform you about current and future products or services (opt-in).

Provision of data to third parties

Provision for the performance of the agreement: Xpert4U engages third parties in the performance of its services. Insofar as these third parties process Personal Data in the performance of their services, they do this in the role of processor. All our processors are required to protect your Personal Data. We conclude agreements with our processors in which we explicitly include this.

Receivers

Xpert4U publish certain information that you have included in your profile on the websites. This data is accessible to all visitors to the website. When filling in your profile, it is indicated which data will be published on the website. If you do not want this information to be public, you can leave the entry fields in your profile empty. The content that you place on the website yourself is also accessible to all visitors to the website.

Xpert4U will not make your data available to third parties, unless there is a special promotion or competition in collaboration with a third party. In such cases, we will always announce this in advance so that you have the choice to participate or not. Our employees and third parties working with us are obliged to respect the confidentiality of your data.

In some cases you can link through our websites to websites of third parties. Xpert4U is not responsible for the data processing or the privacy policy of these third parties. Xpert4U is also not responsible for any processing of your public personal data by other users of this website.

Cookies

This website uses permanent cookies. These are small text files that are automatically placed on your computer by the internet browser. A session cookie can be used to keep track of, among other things, which web pages you view and which options you use. This information is used to make the websites more user-friendly.

With the help of a permanent cookie, the websites can recognize you on a subsequent visit. When logging in to your account, you automatically use the option to save your session ID in a permanent cookie.

You can set your internet browser to warn you when a cookie is placed. You can also completely block the placing of cookies. However, you may not be able to use all parts of the website.

www.xpert4u.co.uk also contain cookies from Xpert4U. This allows data about visitor behavior to be combined with data from other Xpert4U subsidiaries to better tailor advertisements to your interests.

Based on the combined data, segments are compiled for the benefit of advertisers. Advertisers can then show targeted advertisements to certain groups of visitors that are of interest to them. Information about individual visitor behavior or other personal data is never shared with advertisers or other third parties. Xpert4U’s privacy statement applies to this combined data.

Google Analytics

Xpert4U use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies to help us analyze how users use the Website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

Google uses this information to keep track of how the website is used, to compile reports on website activity and to offer other services related to website activity and internet use. Google may provide this information to third parties if Google is legally obliged to do so, or insofar as these third parties process the information on behalf of Google. Google will not combine your IP address with other data that Google has. More information can be found at Google: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

As mentioned, you can set your internet browser in such a way that you are warned when a cookie is placed and you can completely block the placing of cookies. However, you may not be able to use all parts of the Website.

Indexing by search engines

In principle, the data you include in your profile cannot be indexed by external websites, such as search engines. All other content posted by you is indexed by search engines.

Security and retention period

The personal data collected through this website is secured using the current customary techniques. Content that you have placed on the Website is in principle kept for as long as your account is maintained. If you have your account closed, the personal data linked to your account will be anonymized so that the content you have posted on the websites can no longer be traced back to you personally.

The other personal data is kept as long as your account is maintained or as long as the law prescribes. Personal data for inactive accounts will be deleted after a period of 5 years.

Access, correction and deletion

You have the right to view, correct or delete your personal data. Members can do this themselves for the most part, for example via the comment section page. In the cases that this is not possible in this way, you can submit a specified request to Xpert4U to view, correct or delete your personal data. If you have a question or request that cannot be submitted via the form, you can send an email to support@xpert4u.co.uk.

Xpert4U will in principle respond to a request for inspection or correction request within four weeks. In the event of a request for deletion, Xpert4U will delete the relevant personal data as soon as possible, unless and insofar as the law requires to keep the relevant personal data or there are (other) urgent reasons that oppose deletion. Xpert4U will send you a confirmation message after execution of a request for removal. If Xpert4U has not (partially) deleted the personal data concerned, Xpert4U will send the visitor a message explaining why the request could not be (fully) complied with.

If Xpert4U cannot or cannot fully determine to which personal data a request for access, correction or deletion relates, Xpert4U may ask the visitor to specify (further) his request. The execution of the request will then be suspended until the visitor has provided the (further) specification.

Direct Messages

Xpert4U offers Direct Messages (in short: DM), a system that allows registered visitors to send each other a message directly via the website. Direct Messages are basically visible to the addressee (s) in the DM discussion.

All participants also have the option to add new participants to the DM discussion, making the entire message thread visible to the new participant as well. Up to 10 participants can be added to a DM discussion.

Messages are stored unencrypted on our servers, just like regular forum discussions. In case of abuse of the DM system or suspicion of unwanted activities (for example: spam, threats, scams, etc.). a select group of administrators of Xpert4U can view the relevant DM boxes.
